Long ago, Marlena was nicknamed "Hawkeye" and "Queen of Publications" for her superb editing skills.
She works with collaboratively with authors in the developmental stages of their book, helping to guide these writers on using the most effective tone for their material, and organizing their content. As a copy editor, she helps writers make their publications and books easy to read and understand, concise, and effective in meeting their goals—while letting the writer's voice, intention and goals shine through.

Her editing career began at Canadian publisher Maclean Hunter, editing several monthly magazines, for which she wrote their style guide.
At TVOntario, she was editor-in-chief of four types of bilingual publications: a weekly newsletter, monthly and quarterly magazines, and annual report. For two of these publications, she instigated and saw through major design and structural changes to better meet the needs of the readers. She managed the work of dozens of writers, copy editors, designers and translators, while also working with printers, ensuring every publication was produced on time and on budget.

Within the realm of fundraising, she has won awards for donor newsletters she has edited. She also used her knowledge of fundraising science to reinvent the design of several newsletters, changing the writing style, design and content to turn them into fund-generating tools.
Marlena would love to work with you on your publication or book to ensure that the end result is even better than you envisioned.
